About the position The Adjunct position for Aviation Un-manned Aerial Systems - Remote Pilot involves delivering classroom instruction in various areas including Drone Operations, Drone Safety Procedures, and compliance with Drone Federal Regulations. The role requires establishing a conducive learning environment, preparing course materials, and providing clear expectations and evaluations to students. Instructors are expected to engage students, maintain records of progress, and facilitate meaningful learning experiences while promoting student success. Responsibilities • Deliver learning-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement. • Adequately prepare all course materials and lessons. • Provide each student with clear course expectations, evaluations, and timelines. • Provide interesting and relevant assignments for students that demonstrate learning outcomes. • Challenge, engage, serve, and communicate with students to encourage participation. • Complete grade books, final grade sheets, learning assessments, and final exam assessments on time. • Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus. • Maintain a record of each student's progress and make it available upon request. • Facilitate meaningful learning of the course competencies in the curriculum. • Promote student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule. • Design, administer, and grade examinations to assess achievement of course objectives. • Complete all end of term responsibilities, including submission of final grades and attendance records. • Consult with academic area chair or other personnel on questions involving course curricula. • Respond to requests from students and academic personnel in a timely manner. Requirements • Federal Aviation Administration FAR Part 107 Certification. • Associate's Degree. • At least 3 years industry or business experience in the teaching subject area. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member. • Ability to interact successfully with academic and business personnel. • Some night or weekend hours may be required. Nice-to-haves • Bachelor's Degree. • Previous teaching experience in an academic environment. • 5 years' industry or business applied experience in the teaching subject area. • Experience working with students from diverse academic backgrounds. • Ability to enhance proficiency in the use of diverse classroom technology.
