Accounting Coordinator
Interfaith America is a national nonprofit organization based in Chicago that focuses on leveraging religious diversity for the common good. They are seeking an Accounting Coordinator to manage accounts payable and receivable, maintain financial records, and conduct reconciliations while supporting the organization's mission. Responsibilities Daily review of data entered by staff to ensure accuracy of accounting treatment, including identifying which expense should be capitalized and recorded Process accounts payable (print checks, process ACH payments to vendors, expense reimbursement to employees) on a weekly basis Identify and record prepaid and accrued expenses as needed Enter vendor bill requests into the system (general office, printer payment, internet, copier, rent & utilities, data governance bills to Salesforce and Idealist Process invoices by monitoring revenue tracking sheets prepared by program staff and sending invoices to customers Manage Interfaith America Annual Summit related invoicing and credit card processing Support input of reimbursements for the Summit on behalf of the Summit Team for the peak 3 months surrounding that event Identify and record deferred revenue entries in the general ledger Review the accounts receivable aging report and follow up on outstanding balances Identify bad debt expenses.? Deposit checks to bank via scanner and record deposits daily Maintain a well-organized filing system of the accounts receivables and accounts payables supporting documents Set up new vendors Manage vendor files, W-9s, and banking information Facilitate Certificate of Insurance tracking, review COI to confirm it is correct, and follow up with program assistants as appropriate Enter annual organizational budgets & reforecast into the system Conduct payroll data entry via import Input credit card data entry for all company credit cards on a biweekly basis Conduct monthly Stripe reconciliation with bank and conduct data entry Conduct accounting and fundraising data reconciliation on a monthly basis Other administrative financial tasks as needed Skills Bachelor's degree 1-3 years of experience Ability to balance and prioritize multiple ongoing projects from multiple stakeholders Collaborative nature; flexibility and agility in problem-solving Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure Strong attention to detail Strong project management and organizational skills Strong competence in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); willing to learn and utilize organization-wide constituent relationship management software (Salesforce) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Authorization to work in the United States High level of religious literacy and fluency in diversity, pluralism, and inclusion Experience with Accounting platforms Benefits Medical Dental Vision Disability Life insurance Retirement plan Generous paid time off plan Company Overview Religious diversity is a foundational American strength.
