Job Summary: Providing Critical Support to Those in Need As a 211 Information & Referral Specialist, you'll be the first point of contact for individuals seeking assistance, providing phone and clerical services for AUW-211. Your role will be multifaceted, requiring a unique blend of strong communication skills, empathy, and technical abilities. You'll be responsible for answering incoming calls, providing information and referrals to the appropriate providers, and ensuring that clients receive the support they need. Key Responsibilities: Delivering Exceptional Service Answer incoming calls and provide information and referrals to the appropriate providers, ensuring that clients receive accurate and timely support. Complete data entry of caller log screens, recording clients' requests, referrals made, and unmet services requested. Administer quality assurance checks by performing client follow-up with a sample of callers to ensure clients receive effective services and offer additional assistance if necessary. Deliver feedback to the Program Manager and/or VP of Community Impact, including recommendations for the addition or deletion of services identified in the referral process. Support a positive team environment through active participation in team-related activities, fostering a culture of collaboration and camaraderie. Occasionally assist with campaign functions, data entry on updates and new resources, bulk mailings, and telephone outreach for program projects. Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities. Requirements for Success: Essential Qualifications and Skills To excel in this role, you'll need: A high school diploma or GED, demonstrating a foundational level of education. Previous working experience in customer service, or with telephones and/or computers, showcasing your ability to navigate complex systems and interact with diverse clients. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle difficult phone calls, including from community members in crisis, with empathy, confidentiality, and care. Experience working in a team environment, with a proven track record of collaboration and teamwork. The ability to work independently in a remote setting, with minimal supervision, and maintain a high level of productivity. Preferred Qualifications: Enhancing Your Application While not required, the following qualifications will enhance your application: Previous working experience in a non-profit setting, demonstrating an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in this sector. Experience working with high volumes of customer or client requests, or with clients in stressful situations, showcasing your ability to remain calm under pressure. Familiarity with data entry software and automated phone systems, highlighting your technical skills.
