YouTube Editor for FERN-style Armchair Documentary
About the role We’re building a FERN-style, faceless documentary channel. We need a story-driven editor who can turn a rough cut into a tight, cinematic, high-retention video. Your starting materials (we provide): Final narration (VO) A timeline with pre-placed footage synced to VO (with base atmos/SFX where relevant) The rough structure is done. You may swap/augment shots where needed. What you’ll do (editorial polish): Set the tempo & rhythm (micro-pacing, cutting on sense beats) Add music, additional SFX/foley, and enhance atmos Add captions (selective on-screen text), tasteful filters/LUTs, and light graphics where helpful Color balance/grade for consistency; audio mix (dialogue/music/SFX balance) Insert real/stock footage where needed for credibility and variety Ensure continuity, clean transitions, chapter markers (if needed) Cadence & length 1 video per week Typical runtime: 8–15 minutes Must-have Strong portfolio in documentary / armchair YouTube editing (FERN-style a plus) Proven ability to hold attention with audio-visual storytelling Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere Pro (AE a plus) Sense for music curation, SFX, and narrative beats Reliability, detail, and taste—treat the project like your own Nice to have Experience with crime/history/science explainers Basic motion design for maps, dates, labels References Similar style: FERN: Deliverables Final video file (YouTube-ready) Project file + media relink instructions One revision round per video How to apply (required) Start your message with “River” and include: 3+ YouTube links you edited in documentary/armchair style Your per-video fixed price and typical turnaround time.
