About the position The Workforce Assistant position is a part-time role designed specifically to provide opportunities for candidates with disabilities, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This position is structured to support individuals who may have physical or mental impairments that substantially limit one or more major life activities, have a history of such impairments, or are perceived as having such impairments. Successful candidates will be required to provide documentation related to their disability and must be capable of performing the minimum basic duties of the role. Under general oversight and supervision, the Workforce Assistant will complete various administrative and technical tasks within the Workforce Center of the Broomfield Health and Human Services Department, with a particular focus on Employment and Training services. This role involves direct interaction with customers, providing essential employment services, and ensuring that individuals with disabilities receive empathetic and client-centered support. The Workforce Assistant will also be responsible for preparing electronic files for case managers, assisting customers in their job search, and representing the Workforce Center during community outreach events. The position requires a commitment to effective program delivery through collaboration with team members and maintaining a welcoming environment for all customers. The Workforce Assistant will work primarily on-site but may have the opportunity to perform some duties remotely, adhering to the remote work policy of Broomfield. The role may also require attendance at evening meetings and occasional weekend hours, emphasizing the need for regular and predictable attendance. Responsibilities • Greets workforce center customers onsite. , • Provides employment services to Workforce Center customers. , • Prepares electronic files for case managers to review, including scanning documents. , • Provides empathetic and client-centered support to individuals with disabilities enrolled in employment and training programs. , • Assists customers in job search activities. , • Acts as a Workforce representative while performing outreach to the community during events. , • Collaborates with team members to ensure effective program delivery. Requirements • High School Diploma/GED preferred. , • No prior experience necessary. , • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred. , • Ability to handle confidential information. , • Skill in understanding and professionally responding to customer needs. , • Basic skill in the operation of computers and applicable software, printers, copiers, and telephones. , • Ability to work well with culturally diverse individuals. , • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public. , • Ability to organize tasks and working environment to maximize efficiency.
