Vocational Expert - CRCC or ABVE Cert REQUIRED (Remote, P/T, 1099 Contractor)

Remote (Work from anywhere) US Citizen/ Permanent Resident (Green Card) • Government Contract • Part-Time/ 1099 • Work hours will be anytime between 8:00 am – 6 pm, Mon. – Friday (no weekends or holidays) Reports to: StratComm Project Manager Who is StratComm (Strategic Communications, Inc.)? StratComm, Inc. manages Vocational Expert (VE) services for the Social Security Administration's (SSA) Office of Hearing Operations (OHO) Summary: We are seeking a Vocational Expert (VE) to provide impartial testimony and expert analysis during disability hearings conducted by the Social Security Administration (SSA). The VE offers professional opinions on a claimant’s ability to work, considering their physical or mental limitations, past work experience, transferable skills, and the availability of jobs in the national economy. Pay: Pay is provided for each service provided, per hearing. Fee schedule includes the following possible services ordered: study fee, remand study, testimony, answering interrogatories. Responsibilities: • Receive, open, and navigate electronic folders. • Receive, open and navigate encrypted emails for paper cases • Fully complete case file reviews and understand each case. • Complete any research necessary to respond to questions at the hearing prior to the commencement of the hearing. • Provide Expert Testimony at Hearings • Appear for the hearing on time. • Provide accurate, policy compliant evaluations of claimant skill levels in relation to prior vocational activity and transferability of skills. • Provide accurate, policy compliant responses to vocational questions concerning all aspects of work based on direct reliance on and reference to acceptable vocational standards/sources, industrial/occupational trends, and local labor market conditions; applicable Social Security policy. • Cite, explain, and furnish any sources relied on to support the VE’s testimony. • Provide immediate, accurate and well-reasoned responses to vocational questions based upon education and experience in the vocational field when the work identified as being available by the VE differs from an acceptable vocational source. • Where testimony is provided remotely by telephone or Microsoft Teams, the VE must ensure audio quality and clarity of the call. • If the ALJ believes that the VE testimony is not policy compliant or is insufficient, the ALJ will ask the VE to revise or clarify the testimony. • Provide all written answers to questions/interrogatories within established time frames. • Provide accurate evaluation of claimant skill levels in relation to prior vocational activity and transferability of skills. • Provide well-reasoned responses to vocational questions based on acceptable vocational standards and sources, industrial and occupational trends, and local labor market conditions, and applicable Social Security policy. • Write in a clear, concise, grammatically correct, and fully responsive manner Qualifications: · At least five years of direct experience providing vocational rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities, · Current national certification as either a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC), or National certification as a Fellow or Diplomate by the American Board of Vocational Experts (ABVE), and · Meet the continuing educational requirements of their national certifications from either the CRCC or ABVE. · Fluency in Spanish a plus, but not required. #vocational expert#part-time #jobs #careers #1099 Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply!
