Video Editor – Social Media Content Creator
✨ About the Role We’re looking for a creative, trend-savvy Video Editor who knows how to turn raw footage into scroll-stopping, viral-worthy content. This role is perfect for someone who understands social media inside and out - from pacing and hooks to platform-specific formats and storytelling styles. If you know what makes a video perform on TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Threads, and you love crafting content that gets people watching, sharing, and engaging… we want you on our team! Responsibilities Edit raw footage into high-energy, high-quality videos optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Threads, Facebook, and other platforms. Adapt content to fit each platform’s format, length, dimensions, trends, and audience behavior. Create strong hooks, transitions, captions, and storytelling sequences that increase retention and virality. Repurpose long-form videos into multiple short-form versions. Stay up to date with current social media trends, sounds, editing styles, challenges, and viral patterns. Collaborate with the creative and social teams to brainstorm new concepts and content ideas. Add subtitles, transitions, effects, color grading, and sound design. Organize and manage assets, maintain editing workflows, and deliver projects on time. Requirements Proven experience editing short-form social media content (portfolio required). Strong understanding of what makes videos go viral - pacing, emotions, retention, hooks, and shareability. Expertise in video editing software, including: CapCut (mobile + desktop) Adobe Premiere Pro Adobe After Effects (bonus) DaVinci Resolve (optional) Ability to create clean, modern, engaging edits tailored for social channels. Understanding of ratios, resolutions, and export settings for each platform (9:16, 1:1, 16:9). Ability to follow brand guidelines while still adding creative flair. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Bonus Skills (Nice to Have) Experience in pet, lifestyle, or emotional storytelling content. Ability to write simple scripts or storyboards for short-form videos. Knowledge of analytics: retention graphs, audience behavior, hook optimization.
