Position Responsibilities: • Serve as the company-wide data science lead, managing multiple data and AI initiatives and setting the strategic direction for data science. • Coordinate internal technology, business operators, finance, and third-party partners to launch data and AI initiatives. • Identify opportunities to advance data science, build business cases, and measure ROI for all initiatives. • Monitor and optimize program performance, assess predictive model ROI and subgroup performance, and iterate quickly through testing, deployment, validation, and refinement. • Communicate program performance and impact to business, finance, and executive leadership. • Work closely with the data architecture team to operationalize new models. • Split responsibilities across stakeholder management, requirements gathering, program design, and hands-on programming, modeling, and data analysis. • Lead and develop a team of data scientists, fostering a growth-oriented, inclusive culture and maintaining strong communication, collaboration, and accountability. Experience & Skills: Required Experience and Qualifications: • 8+ years' experience in a hands-on data science role. • Clear familiarity and comfort with fundamental data science principles (model creation, training, evaluation, ML ops, and internal communication). • Demonstration of previous close coordination with DBA and dev ops staff is ideal. • Programming experience with some variety of data science, data management, and data visualization tools; for example, R, Python, SQL, SAS, PowerBI. • Familiarity with data warehouses, data architecture, and data operations principles. • Demonstrated experience in managing a data science initiative/program/function within an organization, including accountability to a program outcome, managing internal and external stakeholders (up to C-suite/executive level), and vendor management. • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar application lifecycle management tools is an asset. • Healthcare analytics experience is required; revenue cycle management is an asset.
