VDC Engineer I

They are seeking a VDC Engineer I to support constructability and coordination tasks on projects using technology and processes while offering extensive career growth opportunities. Responsibilities Utilizes 3D design software to identify, communicate, and resolve project challenges Combines all building discipline models into 3D design software coordination model Reviews coordination models for constructability issues utilizing the software’s clash detection capabilities Assigns responsible party(s) for issue resolution; verifies and documents with meeting minutes, submittals, RFIs, and updated models Communicates with internal and external project teams; facilitates meetings to resolve project issues, review schedules, or other project documentation Utilizes Reality Capture technology, such as laser scanning and drones, to support project deliverables Participates in Business Unit (BU) office and department activities including orientation programs, training sessions, and peer group meetings Supports 1 VDC deliverable under supervision Skills Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Information Modeling (BIM) or related field 0-1 years of VDC Coordination experience Or equivalent combination of education and experience Strong problem-solving skills Strong time-management and analytical skills Knowledge and functional use of BIM design software Basic understanding of construction documentation Strong interest in design concepts and integrated building components and systems Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Benefits Competitive health and welfare benefits Generous profit-sharing/401k plan Multi-dimensional training opportunities Enroll in trainings through our award-winning Gilbane University Company Overview Gilbane Building Company provides a full slate of construction and facilities-related services—from preconstruction services planning and integrated consulting capabilities to comprehensive construction management, general contracting, design-build, and facility management services— for clients across various markets.
