Transactions Specialist - Hybrid
The California Department of Aging is dedicated to serving older adults and individuals with disabilities across the state. They are seeking a Transactions Specialist to manage personnel and payroll transactions, including employee benefits, new hire onboarding, and maintaining compliance with privacy laws. Responsibilities Independently performing the full range of personnel and payroll transactions for the California Department of Aging (CDA) Processing employee benefits, conducting new hire onboarding, and preparing salary determinations and Requests for Personnel Action for all appointment types Researching and resolving issues related to pay, leave, and benefits Reconciling and auditing personnel and payroll documents for accuracy and compliance Maintaining Official Personnel Files in accordance with state and departmental requirements, and processing time sheets Managing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with applicable privacy and employment laws when handling all employee information Skills Independently performing the full range of personnel and payroll transactions for the California Department of Aging (CDA) Processing employee benefits Conducting new hire onboarding Preparing salary determinations and Requests for Personnel Action for all appointment types Researching and resolving issues related to pay, leave, and benefits Reconciling and auditing personnel and payroll documents for accuracy and compliance Maintaining Official Personnel Files in accordance with state and departmental requirements Processing time sheets Managing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with applicable privacy and employment laws when handling all employee information Providing a completed application and Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment Including unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification if meeting Minimum Qualifications with education Submitting a current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 Including a resume with the application Submitting a Statement of Qualifications with the Employment Application (STD. 678) Company Overview Under the umbrella of the California Health & Human Services Agency, the California Department of Aging (CDA) administers programs that serve older adults, adults with disabilities, family caregivers, and residents in long-term care facilities throughout the State.
