First American is seeking an experienced Residential & Commercial Title Examiner to join our growing team. This role is open to remote candidates; however, candidates must have hands-on title examination experience in Arkansas. This position plays a key role in coordinating the resolution and completion of the title process. Primary responsibilities include searching public records and examining titles to determine the legal condition of property title for both residential and commercial properties, as well as developing solutions to cure title defects. The role also involves obtaining, reviewing, and summarizing recorded and legal documents that affect the condition of title. In some cases, the Title Examiner will prepare or revise title commitments before passing them along to a Title Officer. What You’ll Do Perform residential and commercial title examinations, including reviewing and establishing the chain of title for a wide range of title matters and complexities Search, abstract, and analyze public records such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, leases, subleases, vital statistics, plats, and map books Determine ownership, legal restrictions, and accuracy of legal descriptions, including records that may span multiple counties Resolve title issues including missing, incomplete, inaccurate, or contradictory information and develop solutions to cure defects Prepare, review, and revise title commitments and related documentation Review reports and commitments for accuracy prior to issuance Provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelines, when appropriate Communicate findings clearly and collaborate with internal teams to support timely resolution of title matters Perform other duties as assigned What You’ll Bring Required Education & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent 3–4+ years of direct title examination experience, including both residential and commercial properties Demonstrated experience examining title in the state of Arkansas (required) State license(s), if required Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work independently in a remote environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Pay Range: $26.88 - $35.82 Hourly, Remote This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
