Telemetry RN - Kansas City, KS
An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with telemetry experience to provide expert care in a supportive med/surg environment. This role is based in Kansas City, KS, on a contract basis and requires candidates who are adept at managing patients needing physical assistance and telemetry monitoring. The position focuses on a patient population with general surgery, bariatric, gynecological, urology, and orthopedic conditions. Typical medical diagnoses include cellulitis, back pain, and kidney stones. Key clinical skills include managing Heparin drips, TPN, PCAs, and interpreting telemetry rhythms. The nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 4:1 to 5:1, supported by CNA/PCT staff, providing a team-oriented care model. Responsibilities: • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring physical assistance • Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately • Administer medications including Heparin drips and TPN • Collaborate with CNAs/PCTs and interdisciplinary team members • Float to various acute care units as needed • Work every other weekend with no on-call requirements • Participate fully in orientation and training processes including Epic EMR system Qualifications and Experience: • Minimum 2 years recent telemetry experience in a hospital setting within the last 18 months • Active Kansas RN or Compact RN license • Current ACLS and BLS certification • Ability to perform physical assistance and telemetry-related nursing tasks confidently Schedule: • 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM About the Location: Kansas City is a vibrant metropolitan area known for its cultural richness, diverse culinary scene, and friendly neighborhoods.
