Technical Fashion Designer & Co-Founder

Remote Full-time
About the Brand www.st-alden.com St Alden is an early-stage, small-batch clothing label in the US focused on thoughtfully designed, handmade garments. I previously founded and ran a loungewear brand in Australia and now looking to only lead the business, brand, marketing, and sales side of the company (now based in the United States). The brand is intentionally built without excess inventory, outside investors, or rushed timelines - prioritizing quality, longevity, and realistic growth. The Role I’m looking for a Technical Fashion Designer & Co-Founder to own the production and technical side of the business. This is an equity-based role (up to 30%), unpaid initially, with real creative input and long-term ownership. You’ll be responsible for turning collaborative design ideas into well-constructed, sellable garments and helping shape how the brand grows from handmade pieces into scalable production. This role is ideal for a fashion graduate, emerging designer, or technically strong creative who wants to build a label from the ground up - without taking on the business side alone! What You’ll Do • sew and construct small-batch garments and customer orders • refine and finalise patterns for production • develop samples and manage fit adjustments • assist with or create tech packs as needed • advise on fabrics, construction methods, and finishes • collaborate on product direction and future collections • help plan the transition to manufacturing as order volume grows What I Bring • dedication, ambition and commitment for success • brand strategy and creative direction • marketing, sales, and customer acquisition • business operations and financial planning • prior experience running a fashion brand • a clear vision with room for collaboration Who You Are • align with the current aesthetic and direction of the brand (Australian inspired resort wear handmade in the US - mid tier luxury price point). • ambitious and wanting to own a label • strong in garment construction and sewing • comfortable working from a home studio or personal setup • familiar with pattern making and fit (formal or self-taught) • interested in ownership over short-term pay • realistic about early-stage growth and timelines • collaborative, reliable, and self-directed Compensation • Equity-based co-founder role (up to 30%) • equity structured with vesting to protect both partners • no salary initially; future compensation as the business grows • non-compete role, ability to work alongside this as long as able to fulfil workload (orders etc) Who This Is Best For • recent fashion graduates or final-year students • emerging designers who want to start a label • technically skilled creatives seeking a serious side project • designers who want creative input and ownership How to Apply Send a short message introducing yourself and your background.
