Structural Engineer I

The role involves providing technical design solutions, planning, and coordination for various projects, as well as performing structural analysis and design for water-related structures. Responsibilities Responsible for specific technical design solutions to meet the client’s needs Provide planning, design, and coordination of small to large projects Participate in conceptual design and provide full team support throughout the entire project Perform detailed structural analysis and design for buildings, water and wastewater treatment plant tanks, pumping stations, hydraulic structures, and retaining walls in accordance with pertinent codes and standards Preparation of design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for construction of new structures and retrofitting of existing structures Field inspection and confined space entry for structural condition assessment and preparation of technical reports Perform construction administration duties including conducting on-site observations, preparation of observation reports, responding to RFIs, and review of submittals Skills BS or MS degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) approved program with a strong academic background in material behavior, structural analysis, concrete, masonry, steel, aluminum, and wood design Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and designation as an Engineer in Training Proficient in use of AutoCAD, Revit, RISA, Enercalc, and Microsoft Office software Excellent technical writing skills Strong verbal, computer, and organizational skills Ability to multitask in a team environment while working on several projects simultaneously Ability to travel (own transportation) Understanding of building materials, systems, specifications, codes, standards, details, and construction techniques preferred Benefits Medical, dental, and vision plans Employee Assistance Program Dedicated benefit advisors for personalized support Financial planning program Life and disability insurance Tax savings plans Coverage for accidents and cancer Generous paid time off Paid holidays Parental leave Flexible work arrangements 401k plans Employee Stock Ownership program Company Overview Baxter & Woodman is a civil engineering company that offers project management services.
