The Structural Engineer will originate and check engineering deliverables, participate in technical meetings, and coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure project success. Responsibilities Assists in the design, development, modification and evaluation of components and processes Compiles, adjusts, and correlates data that will develop professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard Civil/Structural engineering techniques, procedures and criteria utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs) Provides direct support to other engineering disciplines for process/chemical related matters Researches, designs, develops, and evaluates components, products, and systems by using applied process/chemical engineering principles Coordinates development and presentation of material when requested Prepares or participates in preparation of construction drawings, project schedules, graphic presentations, civil drawings, steel and concrete calculations, and material requisitions Checks manufacturers’ drawings and data for compliance with specification and design drawings Designs or participates in design for minor structures and portions of buildings Provides direct support to other engineering disciplines for Civil/Structural related matters Assists in constructability reviews Skills A bachelor's degree in structural/civil engineering with less than 1 year of experience or 4-5 years of relevant work experience A bachelor's degree in structural/civil engineering with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experience Must be authorized to work and remain in the United States without Bechtel visa sponsorship now or in the future Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge.)
