UNC Health is seeking an exceptional candidate to join as a Strategy Consultant. This role involves supporting the development of effective strategies across various regions and service lines, partnering with leadership to conduct analyses and provide data-driven recommendations. Responsibilities Collaboration – Supports planning activities by collaborating with other teammates and project teams to drive successful planning and consulting engagements. Works effectively with leaders within the Strategic Planning team and across the organization. Willingly take on challenges, projects, or initiatives that enable the success of the broader team. Supports multiple projects and ad-hoc requests both independently and on project teams Strategy Development – Conducts analyses, develops effective presentations, and provides thoughtful recommendations to support leadership decision-making and identification of top priorities. Goes beyond the obvious insights to uncover the “so what” takeaways that inform strategic decision making. Participates in cross-functional teams to produce business plans for new initiatives and strategic opportunities. Develops supporting materials for client meetings and deliverables Market Research and Analysis – Performs detailed analysis, which may include internal or external financial, operational and/or market data, and is able to summarize into key insights for project leaders. Researches topics relevant to project work and surfaces key takeaways. Conducts benchmarking analysis of best-practice market leaders. Evaluates emerging market trends and industry developments. Develops recommendations and materials which are presentation-ready for senior executive-level audiences Strategy Liaison – Serves as a liaison between the Strategic Planning department and administrative and clinical leaders, representing the resources and capabilities of the Strategic Planning department. Develops subject matter expertise in one or more valuable areas that will positively benefit our clients across the system, e.g., support for key clinical service lines. Participates in client meetings and is knowledgeable about subject matter and work deliverables. Effectively manages processes and work assignments on complex, multi-phase consulting engagements Skills Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline If a Master's degree: One (1) year of relevant experience (e.g., finance, banking, business development, private equity, strategy or consulting) If a Bachelor's degree: Two (2) years of relevant experience (e.g., finance, banking, business development, private equity, strategy or consulting) or one (1) year at a top tier consulting firm Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, relationship building and communication skills Ability to function with limited guidance and be comfortable working on projects alone or in cross-functional teams Company Overview Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of North Carolinians and others whom we serve.
