About the position Responsibilities • Conduct mediation conferences with parties to contested workers' compensation claims. • Answer inquiries regarding the workers' compensation adjudication and mediation processes. • Provide input for the formulation and amendments to the rules of procedure regarding mediation. • Maintain accurate records regarding the disposition of claims and prepare necessary reports. • Travel as necessary to conduct mediation conferences. Requirements • Must be a member of The Florida Bar for at least 5 years. • Must have completed a Florida Supreme Court certified circuit civil mediation program. • Must be certified as a circuit civil mediator by the Florida Supreme Court. Nice-to-haves • Knowledge of workers' compensation statutes and rules. • Ability to understand and communicate legal arguments clearly and effectively. • Ability to maintain impartiality and the appearance of impartiality. • Ability to draft clear and concise agreements. • Ability to manage a busy mediation calendar. • Ability to create and manage a docketing system for follow-up.
