Overview The Sr. SEO Strategist’s key role is to achieve client goals through the execution of SEO strategies and to be a technical & strategic resource for other team members. The Sr. SEO Strategist is responsible for managing and executing SEO work for a set of strategic client accounts. The Sr. SEO Strategist is expected to be a thought leader for Inflow, with a strong understanding of evolving search trends such as AI Overviews and Answer Engine Optimization, and how these developments impact SEO strategy. They will assist with the sales process from time to time by reviewing websites and making recommendations, or participating in meetings. They will also assist with research and development of existing or new SEO tools or processes to improve efficiencies and improve the department overall. Duties and Responsibilities The Senior SEO Strategist will collaborate with other strategists and SEO team members in achieving client goals as needed. They will be ultimately responsible for the success of the clients assigned to them. Sr. SEO Strategists will be tasked to craft and help execute SEO strategies for their clients. These tasks could include, but are not limited to: Client Strategy & Results Works with clients to understand their unique business models, uncovers key goals, and builds forward-thinking SEO strategies rooted in both current performance and long-term impact. Sets realistic expectations and clear timelines while adjusting for changing needs or industry shifts. Responsible for creating, managing and/or approving overall strategy for their clients and that the most impactful strategies are being executed Both executes work and delegates work to team ensuring the recommendations and deliverables fulfill the overarching SEO strategies Owns the client relationship and consistently ties SEO activities back to business goals, ensuring stakeholders understand both the short- and long-term value of the work Manages organization of project work using appropriate project management systems Serves as lead contact for clients; not necessarily the only contact Reviews work completed by other SEO team members for their clients as applicable and ensures it meets the company’s standard of quality - provides helpful feedback as needed Tracks project progress and progress toward meeting client goals each month; sets new goals if necessary and updates the client on progress. Handles and leads through unexpected events and client issues Ultimately responsible for client retention of assigned client accounts; Is an excellent communicator and is proactive with client communications Collaborates with other team members, contractors and/or client staff in the execution of SEO marketing tactics, such as copywriting and technical analysis Creates monthly client reports and ensures they are accurate and on time Workload / Planning Review the planned tasks based on the client retainer for each of their clients monthly to ensure it is reasonable and complete Understands how and is able to delegate work to other team members when appropriate - matches tasks to individual strengths and provides clear direction and coaching as needed Works with the Sales team to complete sales engineering Communicates with the SEO Manager regarding delays in work and client concerns Updates Hubspot with client status updates Works with SEO Team Manager and SEO Strategy Manager to create, manage, and/or lead non-billable projects/tasks Internal Process Improvements Be able and willing to learn new skills, ask questions, be an active participant in team meetings, share thoughts, knowledge, and ‘wins’ and ‘losses’ Identify, evaluate, recommend and help implement tools and/or processes that could benefit the SEO team and achieve client goals Help document and refine team SOPs, recognizing where complexity can be reduced and efficiency gained Coaching / Team Member Improvements Mentors and shares technical and strategic expertise to coach or train fellow staff members as applicable Assists in identifying training opportunities within the team Communicates with the SEO Team Manager regarding Capacity concerns Skill gaps Successes and performance issues/gaps of team members Assists in identifying reasonable technical / training goals for any SEO team members Business Development (Sales / Upsell Assistance) Assists sales department with site analysis, joining sales calls as needed Identify and help execute opportunities to grow client accounts and retainers Identifies when a cross-sell opportunity exists that could add value to the client’s results, and coordinates with the other department heads Thought Leadership Contributes to Inflow’s internal marketing efforts Qualifications This position can have tight deadlines and may require work hours outside of the normal work day and hours on occasion. 5+ years applicable work experience with strong experience in eCommerce SEO, technical SEO, on-page optimization, content marketing, and analytics 4+ years of Digital Agency experience Demonstrated in-depth technical SEO expertise. Technical and content audit experience on large (preferably eCommerce) sites is a must. Strong understanding of and experience with SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, GA4, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and more Account and Project Management: Passionate drive to serve clients and see projects through to completion Highly organized; able to plan and prioritize multiple projects and tasks; strong attention to detail Excellent ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats Proactive in communicating with clients (and internal team) and anticipating their needs/concerns Significant experience creating and implementing client strategies Strong analytical skills; able to report on successes/failures and identify areas of continuous improvement Ability to train other staff members in needed areas of improvement Desire to continually grow skill set Certified with GA4; other certifications a bonus Must enjoy working closely with a highly skilled team Growth mindset - Continuous learner and seeker of knowledge Apply tot his job
