Shopify & Squarespace Developer Needed to Implement Technical SEO Audit Recommendations
We are seeking an experienced Shopify and Squarespace Front-End / Back-End Developer to help implement technical SEO updates based on a comprehensive SEO audit that has already been completed. You will work directly with a Technical SEO Specialist (us) and execute clearly documented recommendations focused on improving crawlability, indexation, site performance, and overall SEO health across Shopify and Squarespace environments. This is a pure implementation role — all strategy, analysis, and prioritization have already been completed. Scope of Work The developer will be responsible for implementing technical SEO recommendations, which may include (but are not limited to): Shopify • Editing and optimizing Liquid (.liquid) files • Modifying theme templates, snippets, and sections • Implementing SEO-friendly changes in JavaScript (including Liquid/JS interactions) • Improving page speed & Core Web Vitals • Addressing indexation and crawlability issues • Updating metadata logic, canonical tags, pagination handling • Implementing structured data / schema markup • Supporting internal linking and template-level SEO enhancements • Ensuring all changes follow Shopify best practices and do not impact site functionality Squarespace • Modifying page templates, layouts, and global settings • Implementing SEO updates via Squarespace settings, custom CSS, and code injection • Managing canonical tags, metadata, URL structures, and pagination • Improving page speed & Core Web Vitals within Squarespace constraints • Implementing structured data / schema markup via code injection • Resolving crawlability and indexation issues specific to Squarespace • Supporting internal linking and site-wide SEO enhancements All tasks will be provided with clear documentation, priorities, and acceptance criteria from the technical SEO audit. Required Skills & Experience • Strong experience with Shopify development • Hands-on experience implementing SEO updates on Squarespace • Proficiency in Liquid, JavaScript, HTML, CSS • Comfortable working across front-end and back-end logic • Proven experience implementing technical SEO recommendations • Solid understanding of Core Web Vitals & performance optimization • Ability to safely work in live production environments • Strong attention to detail, QA, and documentation Nice to Have • Experience working with SEO agencies or technical SEO audits • Familiarity with Google Search Console, PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse • Experience with custom Shopify themes • Experience navigating Squarespace platform limitations for SEO Budget & Engagement • Hourly Rate: $30/hour • Contract Type: Ongoing / as-needed • Start: Immediate • Estimated Workload: Flexible, based on audit priorities How to Apply • Please include: • Examples of Shopify and/or Squarespace sites you’ve worked on • Your experience implementing technical SEO fixes • Confirmation that you are comfortable working with Liquid files and Squarespace code injection • Your current availability Apply tot his job
