About the Role As a Senior Product Manager at Home Depot, you'll play a critical role in evaluating market needs and leading cross-functional product teams to develop innovative solutions that meet those needs. You'll be responsible for driving business value by delivering products that drive sales, improve profitability, and enhance customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities 50% Strategy and Planning: Develop a deep understanding of our end customers and use that knowledge to determine the fastest way to deliver value Translate business objectives and customer needs into product strategy and communicate direction and product requirements to the development team and other stakeholders Identify goals, metrics, and analysis to determine product value and continuously make recommendations and refinements to the product backlog Manage and groom the product backlog, making prioritization decisions based on the value that will be delivered Partner with Finance to understand financial requirements and facilitate the creation of business cases for new opportunities Monitor research and the competitive landscape to recommend the best solutions and ensure that products remain or become top-tier 20% Delivery and Execution: Develop, test, and refine assumptions and hypotheses through customer research and testing Document, review, and ensure that all quality and change control standards are met Create, prioritize, and accept customer stories, integrating them into release planning Make product decisions that drive value consistently Identify and weigh pros, cons, issues, obstacles, conditions, and value associated with features and enhancements Participate in standups, iteration planning meetings, product demos, and retrospectives 30% People: Foster collaboration with colleagues to drive value and identify and resolve impediments Act as a champion of modern software development practices Advocate for the end customer and stakeholder by becoming intimately involved with the product, empathizing with, and understanding customer needs Work with the product team to continuously review progress, disseminate lessons learned, and grasp next steps Manage cross-functional team and stakeholder expectations to execute on product strategy and provide guidance to requestors to determine prioritization based on tangible benefits and/or customer experience Mentor more junior colleagues in strategy, planning, analysis, and execution tasks Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Marketing, Engineering) Significant experience in product management, preferably in the retail or home improvement industry Strong understanding of product development principles, practices, and methodologies Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications will be highly regarded: Experience with Agile product development methodologies Knowledge of modern software development practices and technologies Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, UX, and Finance Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand financial metrics and drive business growth Experience with product lifecycle management, including product launch and post-launch evaluation Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you'll need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strategic thinking and problem-solving Collaboration and teamwork Communication and stakeholder management Analytical and data-driven decision-making Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment Customer-centricity and empathy Business acumen and financial literacy Career Growth Opportunities As a Senior Product Manager at Home Depot, you'll have opportunities to grow and develop your career in a dynamic and supportive environment.
