About the position The Procurement and Contracts Specialist is responsible for managing the organization's contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, mitigating risks, and optimizing contract terms. The role involves establishing source selections and identifying preferred services and products. The specialist will oversee the entire contract process, from negotiation and review to execution and maintenance, drafting, negotiating, and finalizing purchase orders and contracts for services and products. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the development and implementation of contracting and procurement policies and procedures, evaluating price quotations, recommending final supplier selections, and preparing and issuing Request for Proposals (RFPs) as necessary. Responsibilities • Oversee the entire contract process from negotiation and review to execution and maintenance. • Draft, negotiate, and finalize purchase orders and contracts for services and products. • Assist in the development and implementation of contracting and procurement policies and procedures. • Evaluate price quotations and recommend final supplier selection. • Prepare and issue Request for Proposals (RFPs) as necessary. • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and mitigate risks. • Optimize contract terms and provide expertise in establishing source selections and identifying preferred services and products. Requirements • Contract administration and procurement expertise. • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. • Five years of directly related work experience in purchasing, supplier selection, and contract negotiations, particularly within professional services categories. • Significant experience in drafting, negotiating, and administering Fixed-Price, time-and-materials, and commercial contracts. • Ability to multitask and work effectively with minimal supervision in a fast-paced professional team environment. Nice-to-haves • Experience in procurement or contracting with an emphasis on IT-related categories, including hardware acquisitions and software licenses. • Proven experience in RFx review and drafting. • Strong organizational and time-management skills. • Highly effective analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. • Flexibility and effectiveness in managing multiple and complex projects simultaneously under stringent timeframes and changing priorities. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with individuals and groups at all organizational levels.
