Senior Engineering Manager, Computer Vision

Remote Full-time
About the position Computer Vision doesn't just power Hover's products-it defines them. As we scale our 3D data platform from millions to billions of surfaces, we need a staff-level technical leader who can translate cutting-edge research into durable product capabilities and partner shoulder-to-shoulder with Product Management to decide what we build next. You'll be the connective tissue between long-term vision, day-to-day engineering, and market-driven product strategy, ensuring that our CV roadmap delivers maximum business and customer impact. Responsibilities • Embed directly with the product trio-Product, Design, and Engineering to frame problems, size opportunities, and prioritize roadmap items. • Run fast discovery loops that turn research discoveries and customer feedback into clearly scoped experiments. • Navigate technical uncertainty to make 'stop / iterate / scale' judgments. • Own the computer-vision objectives and capacity plan, communicating trade-offs and resource needs to the executive team. • Architect and deliver end-to-end pipelines for multi-view 3D reconstruction, large-scale scene understanding, and semantic modeling. • Set engineering benchmarks for performance, reliability, and cost, leading by example in C++ and Python while mentoring other engineers. Requirements • Expertise in multi-view geometry, pose estimation, structured reconstruction, and large-scale optimization; deep learning in PyTorch or TensorFlow. • Proven record of shipping CV/ML products at scale (millions of monthly inferences) and owning the full lifecycle from prototype to product. • Product intuition with experience partnering with PMs or wearing the PM hat, balancing user value, feasibility, and timing. • Strong influence and communication skills to translate math, code, and constraints into narratives that resonate with executives and customers. • Entrepreneurial bias to action, comfortable with ambiguity, excited to test hypotheses quickly, and relentless about measurable outcomes. • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in CS, ML, or related field. Nice-to-haves • PhD related to 3D Reconstruction • Publications in CVPR/ICCV/ECCV and a track record of turning research into revenue. Benefits • Competitive salary and meaningful equity in a fast-growing company • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and dependents • Unlimited and flexible vacation policy • Generous paid parental and new child bonding leave • Mandatory Self-Care Days - a day set aside each month to recharge • Recurring fitness classes, meditation/mindfulness tools, virtual therapy, and family planning assistance • Support for continued education covering costs of management training, conferences, workshops, or certifications.
