As a Senior Engineer - Digital Experience DOTCOM, you will be responsible for evolving Geico.com and its supporting systems with a focus on speed to market, security, and 24x7 availability. You will work across the organization to provide friction-less experiences to our customers while maintaining the highest standards of protection and availability. Key Responsibilities Evolve Geico.com and its supporting systems with a focus on speed to market, security, and 24x7 availability Scope, design, and build scalable and resilient software solutions amongst diverse engineering groups Utilize object-oriented languages, Python, SQL, and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of Azure tools and services Perform engineering design evaluations and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization Manage day-to-day activities of the engineering teams overseeing execution of software development projects against delivery commitments Seek ways to simplify and standardize designs, operations, and deployment plans, focusing on reducing complexity and providing performance, agility, and scalability Responsible for production operations support and ensuring availability, stability, and performance of production applications Collaborate with cross-functional organizations throughout the entire software lifecycle to ensure technology and roadmap alignment Manage projects and processes to keep the team organized, efficient, and optimally running Set, manage, and report KPIs to measure progress and facilitate data-driven decision making Mentor and manage engineering peers to help share the necessary skills to perform their jobs and develop their professional careers Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should possess: A strong understanding of headless CMS architectures and open-source solutions with experience in Python, JavaScript, React, PostgreSQL, and NGINX A strong background in delivering digital - web products at scale A strong understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts, platforms, and technologies Advanced understanding of monitoring concepts and tooling The ability to prioritize and drive results based on business value to the organization A strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Experience designing flexible, scalable, high-availability Cloud native applications Strong critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to both senior leadership and highly technical personnel The ability to excel in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience delivering CMS solutions using Wagtail, Contentful, Strapi, Storyblok, or AWS Amplify Understanding of data modeling and AI concepts Experience with CI/CD, Release Management, and Configuration Management processes tooling Skills and Competencies The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical, business, and soft skills, including: 4+ years of professional software development experience and/or solutions engineering experience with technologies such as Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, Golang, Django, Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform Recent hands-on experience with developing or designing cloud solutions 3+ years of experience with architecture and design 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service 2+ years of experience in open-source frameworks Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At GEICO, we are committed to the growth and development of our associates.
