The role requires a high degree of professionalism and initiative while directly leading a small team. The Senior Director role is expected to lead a team with a high performing organization working collaboratively with the business and finance leaders in driving profitable growth. This role requires the ability to prepare and review complex financial systems and processes in order to provide a comprehensive and in-depth analysis to drive improvement and streamlining to help drive results. This role is directly responsible for evaluating all elements of the forecasting process which supports the business and corporate functions. The Senior Director role if expected to establish him/herself as a “collaborative copilot / advisor” with the business and finance leadership by supporting and coordinating the delivery of the revenue forecast, driving applicable transformation as well as accelerating margin improvement. The Senior Director must be able to balance the financial needs of the business leadership with the financial and fiduciary needs of Verista. The role should have a deep understanding of the efficiencies and profitable growth drivers across the business and be able to translate them into operational actions while guiding business partners and working to attain operational KPIs. The role will require the senior director to correlate the operational outcomes into financial impact. Senior Director FP&A Responsibilities: • Develop detailed financial models including projections, valuations, and investment return analyses for Verista’s internal budgeting purposes and for evaluating acquisition targets. These models should comply with generally accepted accounting principles • Lead the forecasting process, collaborating with department heads and executives to gather and incorporate key data and assumptions • Direct the overall process for the bottoms-up development of the annual expense budget, resource planning analysis, and rolling forecast updates • Prepare modeling for potential M&A opportunities to assess integration and synergies, financial projections, valuation and returns, and impact to overall company. Assist in due diligence processes for potential investments • including financial, operational, and legal diligence • Prepare regular reports for the Board of Directors and senior management on the company’s performance, including presentations for quarterly board meetings and ad hoc presentations as needed • Work collaboratively with Verista’s private equity partner and lenders, providing data and analyses as requested; and act as a liaison to the private equity partner, fostering strong relationships and effective communication • Work collaboratively with IT and finance leadership to develop our financial reporting systems such as data rails to ensure we automate an integrated forecasting process • Work collaboratively with the Accounting team to develop our weekly cash flow process • Support the annual budgeting process by collecting, analyzing and consolidating financial data comparing forecast to actuals and to budget • Effectively manage the FP&A team by coaching, counseling and monitoring employees' performance • Performs other duties as assigned Requirements: This position requires the following skills/job knowledge: • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in FP&A role with leadership experience • Position is remote with a strong preference for the ideal candidate to be located in the New England region Required Skills • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) including expert knowledge of financial modeling, pivot tables, and professional formatting standards • Intermediate proficiency in financial statement analysis and basic corporate finance concepts • Intermediate understanding of professional services and related primary financial drivers • Applicants with a strong knowledge of FP&A systems, reports development and Power BI would have a considerable advantage • Process improvement experience a plus in this role Required Abilities • Strong oral and written communication skills • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and self – motivation to be accountable to deliverables and deadlines • Flexibility to work collaboratively and drive results • Strong work ethic as this role requires additional effort • Ability to listen, interpret, influence, challenge, build relationships, collaborate and negotiate in a matrix structure • Strong quantitative and analytical competency • Strong technical finance and accounting knowledge • Ability to adapt to a quickly growing organization and its needs • Ability to flourish in ambiguity and drive solutions in such an environment Supervisory Requirements • 4 years of experience leading and managing an FP&A team For US geography, the salary range for this position is shown below. The actual salary is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, market demand, and competitive market practice. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range.
