Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Customer Engineer to join our team of experts in aerospace composite materials and manufacturing technologies. As a Senior Customer Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and nurturing new composite materials and manufacturing technologies aligned with market and customer needs. You will be the principal technical interface with our customers and will be responsible for promoting blithequark products and technologies, articulating value propositions, and advising on materials and process selections for new composite material applications. Key Responsibilities Develop and nurture new composite materials and manufacturing technologies aligned with market and customer needs Lead concept development activities for new opportunities, coupling material, process, and part design Be the principal technical interface with our customers and be the voice of the customer for blithequark's internal functions Assess technology gaps and provide advice for future product and process development Promote blithequark products and technologies and articulate value propositions to our customers Advise on materials and process selections for new composite material applications Lead and support projects requiring material manufacturing, prototyping, and part builds Provide field technical support to major aerospace OEM and subcontractors for new and legacy programs Identify and lead resolution of material issues in aerospace composite shops Act as the "Voice of the Customer" to liaise with the greater part of blithequark to affect a mutually acceptable resolution Advise customers on processing and properties of blithequark products Support trade studies and provide recommendations on product options and selection based on customer parts and applications Lead and support research and development activities that aim at achieving technical and business objectives Support simulation analysis and development for composite part manufacturing and structural performance Identify potential new applications for blithequark products and support Account Managers in capturing new business, assessing market trends, developing business cases, and evaluating competitor's materials Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree minimum in a relevant Engineering or Material Science discipline Knowledge of aerospace composite part fabrication Experience resolving product and process capability issues in composite part applications Minimum 5 years demonstrated work experience in composites, including problem-solving, technical presentations, project management, relationship building, and identification of new opportunities Minimum of 2 years' experience reviewing composite part designs/drawings for manufacturability and specification compliance Understanding of the aerospace industry, including OEMs, their suppliers, various programs, aerospace quality systems, composite testing requirements, statistical process control, and capability Preferred Qualifications Master's or PhD degree in a relevant Engineering or Material Science discipline Experience working with thermoset prepregs, thermoplastics, adhesives, primers, and surfacing films Familiarity with processes including autoclave, out-of-autoclave, press-molding, and resin infusion Experience with simulation analysis and development for composite part manufacturing and structural performance Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
