About the position The Senior Business Intelligence Automation Developer at Vanderbilt University Medical Center plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining data solutions that enhance automation initiatives. This position leverages expertise in Databricks, SQL Server, and Tableau to create data pipelines and insightful analytics that support decision-making and operational efficiency. The developer will work independently on large development projects and serve as a lead on various initiatives, ensuring the integrity and security of institutional data while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain data models, ETL processes, and Automation data using Databricks and SQL Server. • Create, optimize, and manage complex SQL queries and stored procedures to extract, transform, and load data efficiently. • Develop and maintain interactive and visually compelling dashboards and reports using Tableau to provide actionable insights for stakeholders. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs. • Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in BI, data analytics, and automation technologies. • Ensure appropriate documentation for all development and modification. • Ensure integrity and security of institutional data. Requirements • Proven experience as a BI Developer or Data Engineer with a focus on automation services. • Extensive experience with Databricks for data processing and analytics. • Strong proficiency in SQL Server, including complex query writing, optimization, and database management. • Expertise in Tableau for creating interactive dashboards and reports. • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication and collaboration abilities. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
