Scientist I - In Vitro Pharmacology

They are seeking a Scientist I - In Vitro Pharmacology to contribute to drug discovery efforts with an emphasis on muscle biology, designing and deploying in vitro models and assays for therapeutic programs. Responsibilities Assay Development: Design, characterize and validate bespoke assays to support muscle therapeutic programs Assay Execution: Conduct cell-based functional assays to characterize compounds or validate new targets Muscle Biology: Perform in vitro assays to enhance understanding of neuromuscular disease biology Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate translational biology insights into therapeutic programs or new target proposals Data Management: Document, analyze, and present data to internal teams Skills Either an MS with >4 years of industry experience OR a PhD with 0-2 years relevant experience Skeletal muscle biology expertise Experience and working knowledge of in vitro pharmacology, cell biology, molecular biology, and lab automation Excellent communication skills with the proven ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team Works under general direction and may consult management to obtain information to build consensus and project direction. Has thorough knowledge and understanding of concepts and subject matter expertise Experience with culturing a broad variety of mammalian cells; proficiency with maintenance and differentiation of iPSCs and primary cell lines Experience training junior researchers Experience with in vivo disease models and ex vivo pharmacology Company Overview At UCB, we believe everyone deserves to live the best life they can - as free as possible from the challenges and uncertainty of disease.
