Revit Family Specialist: Parametric Manufacturer BIM Content (Interior Finishes)
We are looking for an experienced BIM Content Creator to develop a professional Revit Family library for our product line, Stikwood (thin, real-wood peel-and-stick planks). This is a manufacturer-specific project. We need “lean,” high-performance Revit families that architects and interior designers can easily integrate into their projects. Products can be seen at stikwood.com/stikwood. We will provide database of product parameters and high resolution textures. //Scope of Work: Parametric Revit Family (.RFA)--Create a wall-hosted or “face-based” family. The user should be able to define the area of coverage, and the family should accurately represent the plank thickness and pattern. Material Library (.ADSKLIB)--Develop a comprehensive Autodesk Material Library using our high-resolution, seamless textures. Each material must include correct identity data (SKU, Fire Rating, VOC, Sustainability info). LOD 300 Standard--Models must be optimized for performance (low file size) while maintaining high-quality render appearances. SketchUp Support--Provide a parallel library of SketchUp (.SKP) components with the same high-res textures for interior designers. //Requirements: • Proven experience in Native Revit Family creation (No imports from CAD/Rhino). • Expert knowledge of Shared Parameters and BIM data standards. • Randomization Logic--Our products are “random plank” finishes, and our biggest challenge is preventing a “tiled/repeating” look in 3D renders. We need a “smart” family that automates the randomization of wood textures.Ability to set a seed parameter to change the randomization. • Must provide a portfolio of previous manufacturer-specific BIM objects. //Deliverables • 1x Master Parametric Revit Family (.RFA) • 1x Material Library File (.ADSKLIB) with 35 wood finishes • 1x Revit Sample Project (.RVT) showing the product in use • Optimized SketchUp (.SKP) files for each product variant //Technical Requirements for Metadata & Quantity Take-offs: We require our BIM objects to be “intelligence-heavy” to assist with specification and procurement. • Embedded Metadata--Each family must include prepopulated Identity Data and Shared Parameters, including: --Manufacturer Name (Stikwood) --Product URL & Model Number --Fire Rating (ASTM E84 Class A/B) --VOC Content & Sustainability Certifications (LEED/Well data) --Material Finish Name • Accurate Quantity Take-offs--The family must be built to support Revit Material Take-off Schedules. It must accurately report Square Footage (Area) and Waste Factors where applicable. • For “Peel and Stick” applications, the family should be categorized correctly (Specialty Equipment or Wall Finishes) to ensure it appears in the correct project schedules. • CSI MasterFormat Integration: Files must include the correct CSI [09][74][00] (Wood Wall Finishes) coding to align with professional specification software. • BIM Repository Compatible: We will be posting these files to our website and online BIM services like BIMsmith and CADdetails etc. so the file must be compatible with their systems.
