Key Responsibilities Customer Engagement: Engage with customers, understand their project needs, and provide personalized product recommendations to drive sales and enhance their shopping experience. Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service, respond to customer inquiries, and resolve issues promptly and professionally. Store Maintenance: Ensure assigned areas are well-stocked, clean, and hazard-free, creating a comfortable and safe shopping environment. Teamwork and Collaboration: Work collaboratively with management and peers to achieve sales objectives, share knowledge, and best practices. Operational Tasks: Handle customer transactions using the POS system, process refunds and exchanges, and maintain accurate inventory levels. Product Presentation: Create labels for pricing and promotional purposes, monitor inventory, and present products in an attractive and appealing manner. Safety and Compliance: Demonstrate and validate compliance with company safety protocols, and report any safety concerns or incidents. Communication: Handle telephone conversations, respond to customer inquiries, and communicate effectively with colleagues and management. Flexibility: Pitch in and help out in other areas of the store as requested, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability. Essential Qualifications Age: Must be at least 18 years old. Math Skills: Basic math skills, with the ability to perform calculations and handle cash transactions accurately. Customer Service: Familiarity with customer service responsibilities and experience in a retail environment. Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure. Forklift Certification: Forklift certification via F&D may be required for specific job roles. Drug Testing: Passing a drug test may be required for certain positions, as permitted by state laws. Preferred Qualifications Retail Experience: Previous experience in a retail environment, preferably in a similar industry. Product Knowledge: Familiarity with home improvement products, tools, and materials. Leadership Skills: Experience in a leadership or supervisory role, with the ability to motivate and guide others. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues. Physical and Sensory Requirements Physical Strength: Ability to exert force ranging from 30 to 60 pounds occasionally or 20 to 30 pounds frequently. Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle various objects. Standing and Walking: Ability to stand, walk, and balance for extended periods.
