About the position The Research Compliance Specialist at the University of Cincinnati's Department of Neurology & Rehabilitation Medicine plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with research protocols within the NIH StrokeNet National Coordinating Center. This position involves liaising between various stakeholders, including the StrokeNet Central IRB and participating sites, to facilitate the review of documents and resolve protocol-related issues. The role offers potential for a hybrid remote work schedule after training, emphasizing the importance of independent judgment and collaboration in a dynamic research environment. Responsibilities • Serve as the sponsor representative for Network trials to interact with performance sites, the trial Project Manager, National Data Management Center (NDMC), and cIRB staff. • Facilitate review of documents for protocol compliance for cIRB submission and other protocol-related regulatory issues. • Use independent judgment to interpret, analyze, and perform the sponsor's review in collaboration with the NCC Project Manager, NDMC staff, the StrokeNet CIRB, and trial investigators. • Assist in the resolution of non-routine protocol-related issues in coordination with project managers, trial and site investigators, NDMC, CIRB, and research staff. • Work with NCC leadership to accomplish necessary tasks and long-term goals. • Attend or participate in various NCC and NINDS meetings, webinars, and teleconferences. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in a related field. • Two years of experience in a compliance, basic science, and/or clinical research environment. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Customer service skills and computer/data entry proficiency. • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Good time-management skills and organizational abilities. Nice-to-haves • Relevant professional certification or an advanced degree. • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures dealing with federal assistance awards.
