Research Associate II

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Research Associate II for the Dell Medical School to assist with a research study focused on the well-being of the harm reduction workforce. The role involves participant recruitment, tracking, and facilitating training components of the study. Responsibilities Sends recruitment emails and flyers Sends research information sheets to participants Potential to work with social media Assists in tracking study participation and retention over time Reviews data using software including REDCap, Excel, and other software and databases to track study participants and related activities Tracks participant compensation has been sent upon survey completion Sends reminders to participants to complete research components Assists with managing research-related correspondence from participants Assist with scheduling and coordinating trainings including providing real time support to participants having difficulty with Zoom platform Facilitate trainings and learning collaboratives Provides support for trainings and learning collaboratives Skills Bachelor's degree Experience with projects involving human subject research and clinical trial work. This experience can have occurred within undergraduate education Demonstrated organizational skills Public speaking experience such as in student organizations or from formal academic course work such as public speaking, or communication courses Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate with research participants in a compassionate, sensitive manner. Good social media skills Demonstrated detail orientation, ability to follow-through, and strong problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word and willingness to learn other technologies as necessary Ability to work independently and on a team Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with an approachable and engaging demeanor Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate Bachelor's degree, preferably in psychology or communications. Other compatible degrees would be in the social sciences or business and marketing or public health Experience with REDCap and TANGO gift card systems Experience with human subjects and clinical trial work Benefits Retirement Plan Eligibility: The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
