They are seeking a Temporary Merchandise Planner I to manage inventory strategy, ensuring the right products are in stock to delight customers while collaborating with various teams to forecast demand and solve inventory challenges. Responsibilities • Manage sales, gross margin, stock, and inventory turn goals for multiple categories within your division • Support monthly Open to Buy activities, incorporating current trends and future expectations to maximize opportunities and mitigate risks, and present forecasts and action plans to the E-commerce team • Review weekly sales performance, identify actionable insights, and adjust priorities as needed • Prepare weekly and monthly performance recaps with data and insights for team meetings • Participate in monthly vendor meetings, both one-on-one and as part of the broader team • Forecast demand at the category, brand, and SKU level and optimize inventory flow plans to maintain target stock levels • Create comprehensive quarterly hindsight reports and recommend forward-looking business strategies • Identify opportunities for SKU rationalization and assortment improvements • Develop pre-season inventory strategies for your categories using both top-down and bottoms-up planning approaches • Partner with the Merchandising team to shape future product and inventory strategies • Collaborate with key suppliers to maintain optimal inventory levels and provide accurate forecasts • Focus on top volume and top registered SKUs to maximize revenue, maintain in-stocks, and ensure a great customer experience • Manage the end-to-end order pipeline and negotiate flow requirements with vendors Skills • 2-4 years of inventory planning experience • Experience in driving pre-season strategy from concept to execution • Ability to tackle complex problems using data and critical thinking • Strong numerical skills to interpret trends and translate data into actionable recommendations • Proficiency in Excel to manipulate data, build models, and deliver insights • Solid expertise in retail math and inventory planning • Adaptability and agility in shifting priorities • Focus on finding efficiencies and improving processes • Clear and confident communication across teams • Resourcefulness and comfort in a fast-paced, high growth environment • Enthusiasm for e-commerce and its impact on customers • Interest in working in an AI forward environment • Four year college degree or equivalent experience Benefits • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance • Retirement savings plan with company matching and flexible spending accounts • Generous paid parental leave and PTO • Remote work stipend to set up your office • Perks for physical, mental, and emotional health, parenting, childcare, and financial planning Company Overview • Babylist is an online platform that offers baby registry for expecting parents and products such as toys, baby care, and clothing.
