[Remote] Technical Underwriting Analyst

The Technical Underwriting Analyst role focuses on designing, configuring, and maintaining automated underwriting systems while collaborating with development teams and providing production support. Responsibilities • Develops, maintains and enhances underwriting rules systems • Provide subject matter expertise/experience to our Automated and Accelerated Processes • Independently prepare new business and underwriting system requirements documentation for specific portions of process • Creates process design for complex systems and processes including user acceptance testing (writing complex test cases, implementing and creating solutions) • Translate user requirements, write technical specifications, and work closely with development resources. Participate in large system implementations. Accurately estimate and deliver assigned tasks. Participate in requirements definition, design walk-throughs, and code reviews • Provides day to day production support. Perform urgent problem resolution • Conducts testing of system changes and facilitates quality assurance testing for system modifications • Develops reports using various reporting tools and supports data management for new business and underwriting systems • Explores strategic initiatives focused on improving the customer experience and automated underwriting • Review individual life insurance applications and underwrite standard and substandard risks within authorized limits of authority in accordance with department guidelines.
