Remote Full-time
```html Why Join Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology? At Disney Entertainment and ESPN Technology, we are on a mission to shape the future of storytelling, sport, and news through groundbreaking digital experiences. From Disney+ and Hulu to ESPN+ and ABC News, our platforms reach hundreds of millions of households worldwide every single day. As a member of the Design organization, you will help weave the signature Disney magic into every pixel, interaction, and flow that fans encounter across our ever‑expanding portfolio of consumer‑facing and internal tools. If you thrive on turning ambitious ideas into delightful products that delight global audiences, you will feel right at home here. Our team works remotely, giving you the flexibility to collaborate from anywhere while staying connected to a vibrant, supportive community of designers, product managers, engineers, and storytellers. We celebrate creativity, champion diversity, and invest heavily in professional growth—because when designers succeed, the entire business thrives. Role Overview – Principal Product Designer (Growth+) We are looking for a senior design leader who can set the strategic direction for growth‑focused product experiences across Disney’s media ecosystem. In this role you will own the end‑to‑end design lifecycle for acquisition, monetization, and retention initiatives that drive revenue and deepen audience engagement on a global scale. Your influence will extend beyond the screen to shape design culture, influence cross‑functional roadmaps, and elevate the craft of design throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Partner with senior product, engineering, and business leaders to define growth strategies, translate business objectives into compelling design visions, and prioritize high‑impact opportunities. Design System Stewardship: Lead the evolution of our design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and accessibility across all Disney‑branded experiences while championing best‑in‑class interaction patterns. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Act as the trusted design advocate in steering committees, sprint ceremonies, and executive reviews, fostering a shared understanding of user needs and business goals. Research & Insight Generation: Direct qualitative and quantitative research programs—user interviews, surveys, A/B tests, analytics—to uncover insights that inform product strategy and measure growth impact. Delivery Execution: Oversee complex, multi‑team projects from concept through launch, establishing clear design milestones, review processes, and hand‑off documentation that keep teams aligned and on schedule. Mentorship & Culture Building: Coach and elevate a growing cohort of product designers, fostering an inclusive, curiosity‑driven culture that values experimentation, feedback, and continuous learning. Thought Leadership: Represent Disney Design at industry conferences, publish thought pieces, and lead internal workshops that push the boundaries of what design can achieve in the media space. Performance Measurement: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for growth initiatives, translate data into actionable design improvements, and communicate results to stakeholders. Essential Qualifications Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in product design, interaction design, or a closely related discipline, with at least 4 years in a senior or principal leadership role. Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus. Demonstrated expertise in designing commerce‑centric experiences—subscription funnels, in‑app purchases, ad‑supported flows—and a track record of driving measurable growth metrics. Deep understanding of design fundamentals, information architecture, visual hierarchy, and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1). Proven ability to translate strategic business objectives into concrete design solutions that balance user delight with revenue goals. Exceptional communication skills, with experience presenting complex concepts to executive audiences and influencing cross‑functional decision‑making. Strong portfolio showcasing end‑to‑end design work for large‑scale consumer products, highlighting impact on acquisition, retention, or monetization. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading design for streaming platforms, sports media, or entertainment‑focused products at a global scale. Hands‑on familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping platforms like Principle, Framer, or Origami. Experience building and evolving design systems in collaboration with engineering teams. Background in conducting and synthesizing both qualitative (user interviews, usability testing) and quantitative (analytics, cohort analysis) research. Track record of mentorship—building design career ladders, running design critiques, and nurturing junior talent. Demonstrated advocacy for inclusive design practices and a commitment to building products that resonate with diverse audiences worldwide. Core Skills & Competencies Strategic Vision: Ability to see the big picture, anticipate market trends, and craft design roadmaps that align with long‑term business objectives. Interaction Design Excellence: Mastery of wireframing, prototyping, and high‑fidelity UI design, with a keen eye for detail. Data‑Driven Decision Making: Comfortable interpreting product analytics, conversion data, and user research to iterate designs rapidly. Collaboration & Influence: Skilled at building consensus across product, engineering, marketing, and senior leadership. Leadership & Mentoring: Proven ability to inspire teams, cultivate a growth mindset, and champion a culture of psychological safety. Communication: Clear, concise, and persuasive storytelling—whether writing design documentation, delivering presentations, or facilitating workshops. Adaptability: Thrive in fast‑moving environments, juggling multiple high‑visibility initiatives while maintaining design quality. Career Growth & Learning Opportunities At Disney, we view every project as a learning platform. As a Principal Product Designer, you will have direct access to senior executives, participate in strategic planning cycles, and influence product direction across multiple business units. We provide: Executive Sponsorship: Regular interaction with C‑level leaders to shape company‑wide design initiatives. Professional Development Budget: Annual stipend for conferences, certifications, and workshops of your choice. Internal Design Academy: Access to curated learning paths, mentorship programs, and cross‑functional design labs. Innovation Time: Dedicated “design sprint” weeks where you can explore emerging technologies—AR/VR, AI‑driven personalization, and more. Global Exposure: Collaboration with teams across North America, EMEA, and APAC, giving you a truly worldwide perspective on product challenges. Work Environment & Culture Our remote‑first policy is complemented by periodic in‑person gatherings, virtual coffee chats, and a robust internal community platform. We pride ourselves on: Inclusivity: Diverse voices are celebrated; we actively recruit talent from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Creativity & Playfulness: From themed design challenges to virtual movie nights, we keep the Disney spirit alive in our day‑to‑day work. Collaboration: Cross‑functional squads operate with autonomy, supported by clear shared goals and transparent communication channels. Health & Well‑Being: Comprehensive mental‑health resources, flexible work hours, and wellness stipends to help you stay balanced. Compensation, Perks & Benefits We offer a competitive total‑reward package that reflects the seniority of the role and the market landscape. While exact figures depend on location, experience, and internal equity, you can expect: Base Salary: A range that aligns with market benchmarks for principal‑level designers in major tech hubs. Performance Bonus: Annual discretionary bonus tied to individual and company performance. Long‑Term Incentives: Stock options or restricted stock units that vest over time, allowing you to share in Disney’s long‑term success. Health Coverage: Medical, dental, vision, and mental‑health benefits with employer contributions. Retirement Plans: 401(k) match and financial planning resources. Paid Time Off: Generous vacation policy, holidays, and parental leave. Learning & Development: Access to internal training, external conferences, and tuition assistance. Technology Stipend: Home‑office equipment allowance to create an ergonomic remote workspace.
