Remote Merchandise Planning Manager Location: Remote Salary: $73,500 per year Job Overview: We seek a highly skilled and motivated Merchandise Planning Manager to join our dynamic team. As a Remote Merchandise Planning Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction of our merchandise planning and inventory management. You will be responsible for optimizing the merchandise assortment, forecasting demand, and ensuring inventory levels align with sales goals to maximize profitability. Key Responsibilities: • Merchandise Planning: • Develop and execute comprehensive merchandise plans that align with company objectives and financial goals. • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and customer insights to create accurate forecasts and inventory plans. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including buying, marketing, and sales, to ensure alignment on merchandise strategies and promotional activities. • Inventory Management: • Monitor inventory and turnover rates to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce excess inventory. • Implement inventory replenishment strategies to ensure product availability while minimizing stockouts and overstock situations. • Conduct regular inventory audits and work closely with the supply chain team to address discrepancies. • Data Analysis & Reporting: • Utilize advanced analytics tools and software to track sales performance, inventory turnover, and other key metrics. • Prepare and present regular reports on merchandise performance, including sales trends, inventory status, and forecast accuracy. • Identify opportunities for improvement based on data analysis and make recommendations to enhance planning and operational efficiency. • Vendor & Supplier Management: • Build strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate product deliveries. • Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors to secure favorable pricing and delivery schedules. • Please address any issues related to vendor performance and work towards resolving them promptly. • Strategic Initiatives: • Lead and participate in strategic planning initiatives to drive growth and profitability through effective merchandise planning. • Stay current with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve planning processes and methodologies. • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement strategies for new product launches and market expansions. • Team Collaboration & Leadership: • Provide guidance and support to junior team members and assist their professional development. • Foster a collaborative and positive working environment within the remote team, promoting open communication and teamwork. • Participate in regular meetings and virtual discussions to align with organizational goals and project updates. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, or a similar role. • Proven track record of developing and executing successful merchandise plans and managing inventory effectively. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions. • Proficiency in merchandise planning software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Excel. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively. • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and process improvement. Preferred Skills: • Experience with e-commerce and digital merchandising strategies. • Knowledge of current industry trends and emerging technologies in merchandise planning. • Familiarity with data visualization tools and advanced analytics platforms.
