[Remote] Loan Processor - Accepting Resumes for Future Hires

LoanPeople is a mortgage company headquartered in Austin, TX, seeking a Loan Processor to manage the processing of various mortgage loans. The role involves overseeing a personal pipeline, ensuring compliance with guidelines, and maintaining communication with all parties involved in the loan process. Responsibilities • Manage a personal pipeline daily to ensure all loans close on schedule • Process various types of residential mortgage loans from initial file review through post-closing, including Conventional, FHA, VA, Jumbo, and state-specific products such as TX refinance and DPA programs • Accurately calculate all types of income including salaried, hourly, bonus/overtime, self-employment, rental, and retirement sources • Review and validate findings from automated underwriting systems (DU and LP) and ensure compliance with Agency guidelines and investor overlays • Communicate proactively with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and third-party vendors to obtain documentation, resolve issues, and keep all parties informed • Ensure loan files meet all internal and investor guidelines, policies, and procedures prior to submission and funding • Process and manage a minimum of 20-25 loans per month with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency • Identify and address potential issues early in the process to avoid delays in underwriting or closing • Submit files to underwriting and follow up on outstanding conditions until clear-to-close is obtained • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the LOS • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives Skills • Minimum of 5 years of mortgage processing experience with a proven ability to manage high-volume pipelines. • Strong working knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, and Jumbo programs; experience with Non-QM, USDA, MCC, and DPA programs a plus. • Proficient with AUS systems (DU and LP), AllRegs, and current agency/investor guidelines. • Demonstrated ability to handle the full file life cycle—from loan officer handoff through funding. • Advanced income analysis skills, including complex self-employment and layered income scenarios. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident in client-facing roles. • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and the ability to multitask under pressure. • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet deadlines. • Self-starter with a proactive, problem-solving mindset. • Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team. • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and mortgage LOS platforms.
