[Remote] Knowledge Management Technical Writer / Requirements Manager

The Knowledge Management Technical Writer / Requirements Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining technical documentation to support systems development programs and IT processes, ensuring accuracy and clarity in communication. Responsibilities • Requirements capturing and documentation • Requirements mapping to Test Cases and User Stories • Working with Test and Product teams to ensure Requirements traceability • Draft, develop, and edit comprehensive technical and administrative documentation for systems development programs and IT processes • Create and maintain user manuals, standard operating procedures, process documentation, and system guides to support program operations • Develop, update, and standardize documentation templates to ensure consistency across all program materials • Maintain template libraries and ensure adherence to organizational branding and formatting standards • Develop basic graphics, diagrams, and visual aids to enhance technical documentation and demonstrate system functionality • Utilize desktop publishing tools to create professional, user-friendly documents that effectively communicate complex technical concepts • Maintain organized documentation repositories in shared platforms such as SharePoint, ensuring proper version control and accessibility • Implement and oversee document lifecycle management, including archiving, updates, and distribution protocols • Conduct thorough reviews and editing of technical documents for grammar, content accuracy, clarity, and adherence to style guidelines • Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to ensure all technical documentation meets compliance requirements and organizational standards • Engage with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across various disciplines to gather information, validate content, and ensure technical accuracy • Work closely with SMEs to document complex IT processes, procedures, and system workflows in clear, accessible language • Partner with IT teams and SMEs to document technical processes, procedures, and best practices • Identify opportunities to improve documentation processes and implement enhancements to increase efficiency and usability • Track and report on the progress of documentation work products, deliverables, and project milestones • Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and quality delivery • Prepare and present technical documentation to stakeholders, leadership, and cross-functional teams • Support document review processes and incorporate feedback to continuously improve content quality and effectiveness Skills • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered • 2+ Years Experience in Technical writing, documentation development, or knowledge management roles • Experience creating and editing technical documentation for IT systems, processes, or systems development programs • Familiarity with documentation tools and platforms such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and desktop publishing software • Experience working with shared repositories (e.g., SharePoint) for document management and version control • Previous experience collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather and validate technical information • Strong understanding of technical writing principles, including grammar, style, formatting, and content organization • Proficiency in developing and maintaining templates for technical and administrative documentation • Ability to create basic graphics, diagrams, and visual aids to support technical content • Familiarity with IT processes, procedures, and systems development concepts • Knowledge of document lifecycle management, version control, and repository organization • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint) • Ability to synthesize complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting, editing, and reviewing content • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify gaps in documentation and propose solutions • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with SMEs, IT teams, and cross-functional stakeholders • Ability to present documentation and progress updates to leadership and project teams • Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously • Proactive and adaptable in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities and requirements • Collaborative mindset with a focus on teamwork and continuous improvement • Commitment to producing high-quality, compliant documentation that meets organizational standards • Requires a separate, quiet, private, confidential space to work from as well as having access to your own reliable high-speed internet hard wired to your home or apartment (coax or fiber from the Internet Service Provider (ISP) to your home.
