[Remote] Horticulture Territory Manager - Contract

They are seeking a Horticulture Territory Manager to develop and maintain business relationships with retail and grower customers, driving sales growth and executing strategic territory plans. Responsibilities Creating and executing an annual short- and long-term strategic territory plan that aligns with the national and regional business objectives within the Horticulture portfolio, ensuring their alignment with marketing efforts and that they are customized to the territory to enable accurate forecasting Creating account plans for strategic customers to support the achievement of the Territory Plan – must include short- and long-term customer action plans to respond to market dynamics and ensure profitability across Horticulture brands Managing relationships and resources to create demand with a combination of growers and retailers as part of the Territory Plan to enable success and ensure retailers demand creation aligns with our account teams activities (including SAM as required) and account plans Actively identifying and calling on fruit & vegetable growers to communicate the value of new BASF horticulture innovations, focusing on the benefits BASF products and services Identifying, negotiating, and closing sales opportunities for our portfolio with identified target horticulture customers with support where needed Learning, maintaining and utilizing relevant CRM tools including but not limited to Salesforce, SGI, AgConnect, etc to capture progress and identify & execute on opportunities Partnering with Technical Services Representatives to educate retailers and growers on the use of BASF innovations to create new business opportunities. Developing agronomic and product knowledge Aligning broader teams on strategic messaging and positioning to increase market intelligence by providing information around industries, competitors, and customers to BASF’s Marketing team Participating in local and regional teams to deliver against customer needs Skills A Bachelor's degree or diploma with a concentration in agronomy, chemistry, biology, business, agribusiness or related field A minimum of 1.5 years' experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 3.5 years' experience with an Associates Degree/2 year Diploma Professional experience in sales, or a technical background within an agricultural-related field Strong interpersonal communication skills combined with a passion for making a positive difference in the agriculture industry Proven ability to develop and cultivate meaningful relationships with customers and internal stakeholders Strong business acumen and technical proficiency, including working experience with Microsoft Office Suite & CRM Ability to work independently to create a territory plan that is aligned with the national and regional objectives Ability to self-manage time and resources and to allocate time and energy appropriately, resulting in achievement of goals Benefits Competitive health and insurance plans Robust retirement benefits that include company-matching contributions Engaging learning and development opportunities Company Overview BASF is a manufacturing company that offers chemicals for industries such as construction and coatings, automotive, and various sectors.
