MITRE’s Center for Transforming Health is seeking a graphic design intern, to support and create interactive and static products in partnership with our scientific and technical subject matter experts. These products directly impact national health and human services issues that affect people’s everyday quality of life. You will be instrumental in exploring new and creative ways to communicate complex messages to a broad audience. We are seeking a resource that could commit to a flexible work arrangement with potential of up to 20+ hours per week. You will bring support to various design and communication tasks that include: • Designing and developing equitable, interactive documents that are accessible regardless of a person's abilities or circumstances. • Presentation development. • Design engaging and informative infographics. Required Qualifications: • Candidate must be enrolled full-time in a degree seeking program in Communications, Graphic Design or similar area of study and will be pursuing full-time education in the fall. • Candidates must have graphics experience and be knowledgeable and experienced with Creative Cloud software. • Interns need to be flexible concerning daily tasks and be able to adapt to rapidly changing projects. • In addition, applicants must be well organized with excellent communication skills, be creative with a great customer service attitude. Preferred Qualifications: • Proficient skills in Adobe Suite CS mainly, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign. • General understanding of branding. • Must have a passion for the creative development process. • Strong listening skills and the ability to be open to new ideas from team members, coworkers, industry sources and clients. • Ability to manage several projects with keen attention to details and process. • Advanced skills using Power Point and Microsoft Word. • Good interpersonal and communication skills. • Attention to detail and excellent organization skills. • Possess creativity, energy, and boundless ideas.
