As a Remote Geosteerer with Impac Exploration Services, Inc., you won’t just monitor wells from a distance—you’ll make real-time decisions, collaborating closely with drilling engineers, directional drillers, and geology peers in a virtual environment built for fast, precise execution. Key Responsibilities • Provide real-time geosteering guidance to optimize wellbore placement, working closely with drilling and directional teams. • Master and follow each operator’s established Standard Operating Procedures. • Thrive in collaborative team structures, ensuring seamless coordination between geology and drilling functions. • Complete geological side projects, special studies, and operational initiatives during non-drilling intervals. • Integrate geological interpretations into drilling decisions and proactively recommend adjustments to improve performance. • Uphold rigorous QA/QC standards for all geosteering and geological analyses. • Use cross sections to anticipate casing points, coring intervals, and adjustments to landing targets. Remain agile in responding to shifting priorities and operational demands. Qualifications • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related field. • Prior experience in geosteering or operations geology. • Strong understanding of drilling operations and how geological interpretations influence drilling dynamics. • Experience working in collaborative, high-performance team environments. • Proficiency with geosteering software (e.g., StarSteer, ZoneVu) and geological databases; ability to quickly learn new tools. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer literacy. Authorization to work in the U.S. Work Environment & Schedule • Remote role: work from a private, distraction-free home office. • Rotational schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, rotating between day and night shifts.
