[Remote] Early Career Web Developer

They are seeking a full-stack developer to provide technical expertise in creating web applications that support public health research initiatives. Responsibilities Collaborate with project teams to plan, design, and build web applications that support research initiatives Create wireframes or mockups of web applications and/or key features Build complex, flexible, cross-browser compatible front-end web applications utilizing standard HTML/CSS/Typescript practices Develop back-end services and databases to support scalable and secure web applications Commit to high standards of quality and participate in quality initiatives Research, recommend, learn, and apply new methodologies and/or technologies Skills Experience developing and maintaining interactive web applications Demonstrated experience with HTML5 and CSS3 Demonstrated experience with TypeScript and JavaScript development (npm, jQuery, Bootstrap, or equivalent) Experience with .NET (C#) or Java Experience with responsive design and knowledge of UI/UX prototyping tools Knowledge of relational database design Demonstrated client-focused development experience Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to be flexible and learn new concepts and technologies Ability to work effectively in both team based and individual developer settings Excellent verbal and written communication skills Legal authorization to work in the United States and should not require now, or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status Experience with SCSS/SASS Knowledge of RESTful/Micro Services Benefits A generous paid time off policy Merit based annual increases Bonus opportunities A robust recognition program A competitive range of insurance plans (including health, dental, life, and short-term and long-term disability) Access to a retirement savings program such as a 401(k) plan Paid parental leave for all parents Financial assistance with adoption expenses or infertility treatments Financial reimbursement for education and developmental opportunities An employee assistance program Numerous other offerings to support a healthy work-life balance Company Overview RTI is an independent, nonprofit institute that provides research, development, and technical services to government and commercial clients.
