Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for Claims & Denials Specialist for a leading healthcare revenue recovery firm. This is a fully remote role based in the U.S. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Claims & Denials Specialist will execute high-impact denial recovery processes to help specialty healthcare providers recover lost revenue. This role requires following standardized playbooks with precision and speed, directly contributing to recovered dollars and cash acceleration for clients. The position emphasizes outcomes-driven execution rather than generic billing tasks. PERKS: • Competitive pay rate: $28–$35/hr • Fully remote work with flexible scheduling • Opportunities for professional development and upskilling • Inclusive and collaborative team environment RESPONSIBILITIES: • Work assigned denial queues, including post-pay denials, underpayments, medical necessity, bundling, timely filing, and WC claims • Prepare and submit appeals according to payer-specific playbooks • Track claim status through final resolution and maintain clean, auditable documentation • Perform follow-ups with payers via phone, portals, and written correspondence • Escalate complex or novel denial patterns to leadership as needed • Incorporate feedback from QA and Strategist reviews to improve processes QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, or denial recovery • Familiarity with orthopedic practices and commercial payers (e.g., BCBS, Aetna, United, Cigna) • Comfortable working with productivity and accuracy metrics in structured, KPI-driven environments • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized workflows • Coachable, disciplined, and able to take ownership of results COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: • $28–$35/hr • Fully remote, contract-to-hire opportunity • Flexible scheduling • Potential for full-time benefits upon conversion HOW TO APPLY: For immediate consideration, please submit your resume here!
