[Remote] Anchor & MMJ (AgDay)

Farm Journal is a leading company in agriculture and food production media, seeking an anchor/MMJ with a passion for agriculture to join their team. The role involves anchoring the AgDay newscast, reporting from the field, and creating engaging multimedia content that highlights the evolving agricultural landscape. Responsibilities • Exhibit strong video news storytelling skills that connect with American farmers, ranchers and growers • Exhibit strong reporting skills that show the ability to dig deep, rely on multiple sources and leverage original research that will create great video and “digital first” articles for the web and other platforms (bolthires and social) content • Anchor a half-hour newscast • Produce and write video content and newscasts as needed • Work independently with a reasonable amount of guidance and respect to objectives and department guidelines • Be a good partner and work collaboratively with other team members on stories or creating multimedia content • Regular travel required for on-site interviews, events and shows • Create additional digital content including articles, audio, social media and email newsletters Skills • A reel with relevant on-air and video work examples is required in the application. • Tangible experience as a broadcast journalist or digital video storyteller (bolthires series, etc.) • Experience anchoring a traditional newscast • Experience in newsgathering: taking multiple interviews and original reporting to deliver a strong web story. • Experience in agriculture - either as a journalist, from the industry or part of a farm family • Experience managing and creating content for social media platforms • Proven aptitude for growth and a curiosity to discover. • Ability to work calmly under deadline. • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field. • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States. • Experience using and analyzing digital analytics a plus • Background in journalism a plus • Experience covering or background in technology or other “next generation” agricultural topics a plus • Experience with Adobe Premiere, Sony field video equipment is a plus • Strong communication skills that go beyond your work Company Overview • Farm Journal is an information and insights company for generating growth and delivering new yields across every aspect of agriculture.
