The Advanced Solutions Network Engineer 3 is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting customer solutions across various Comcast Business products, while also providing technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers. Responsibilities • Strong understanding and ability to build end-to-end secure network solutions with additional services like WiFi, VoIP, LTE, etc. • Works within a Software Defined Networking (SDN) environment with Security (UTM/NGFW). • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of Network Function Virtualization (VNF) concepts and strategies including Universal Customer Premise Equipment (uCPE). • Demonstrates good knowledge of Internet Protocol (IP) routing and switching fundamentals (See Preferred Qualifications). • Works in a 24x7 Operations environment supporting live customers in a Tier 4 setting. • Supports both standard customers as well as large, complex customers with custom designs and configurations. • Creates custom solutions and proof of concepts (PoCs) for customers and tests those out in lab environments. • Exercises judgment during incident management, site design, network configuration and network activation to ensure efficient use of time. • Performs technical training and mentorship to junior operations/engineering teammates. • Displays in-depth knowledge of engineering and development methodologies, concepts, skills, and their application. • Comfortable with quarterly rotational on-call requirements. • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary. • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
