About the position The Registered Nurse (RN) for the Venous Access Device Team is a part-time position working night shifts at Advocate Christ Hospital & Medical Center. The role involves using the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan and implement individualized interventions, and evaluate the effectiveness of care. The RN will collaborate with healthcare team members to provide patient-centered care, anticipate changes in patient conditions, and implement strategies to enhance patient safety. The position requires effective communication, leadership, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities • Assess the needs of the patient and plan individualized interventions. • Evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care. • Anticipate and recognize significant changes in the patient's condition. • Provide ongoing assessment and take appropriate actions when changes occur. • Implement strategies to reduce patient risk and increase safety. • Coordinate the discharge plan using an interdisciplinary approach. • Apply evidence-based practice to deliver patient care. • Evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes. • Promote collaboration among healthcare team members. • Participate in quality/process improvement initiatives. • Demonstrate effective communication and conflict resolution skills. • Participate in professional development activities. Requirements • Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice. • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification. • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing. • Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing. • Proficient computer skills and use of electronic medical records systems. • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to develop rapport and maintain professional relationships. • Demonstrated ability to make critical, independent decisions. • Excellent organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
