Real Estate Specialist Entry or Senior
The State of Wisconsin is seeking a Real Estate Specialist Entry or Senior to join the Department of Transportation. This role involves property appraisal, right-of-way acquisition for highway improvement projects, and providing relocation assistance services, requiring knowledge of real estate principles and practices. Responsibilities Apply a general understanding of technical real estate principles, practices and procedures towards the completion of routine assignments in selected areas within the real estate function Primary responsibilities are property appraisal and right-of-way acquisition for highway improvement projects and assisting in property management activities At the Senior level, you will primarily be responsible for providing relocation assistance services within the region, but also has appraisal and negotiation responsibilities and performs duties in other real estate functional areas Duties and tasks reflect variety and complexity The nature of most assignments requires a detailed knowledge of right-of-way acquisitions, condemnation law, appraisal valuation theory and eminent domain principles and practices Skills The ability to obtain a Notary Public Commission from the State of Wisconsin within six months of employment is required Experience and/or training in working in customer service including using problem solving skills to resolve customer issues Experience and/or training in handling multiple projects and/or tasks in a work environment Experience and/or training in record keeping (i.e. establishing and following filing procedures, tracking/logging data, etc.) Experience and/or training in working with computer programs (i.e. databases, spreadsheets, word processing software, etc.) Experience with eminent domain Experience working in real estate (could include property management, appraisal, real estate sales, title work research, real estate education, eminent domain real estate, survey, utility real estate, ability to understand legal descriptions and plat maps, etc.) Benefits Substantial leave time including at least 3.5 weeks of paid leave time to start, 9 paid holidays, and 130 hours of sick time that roll over each year.
