As a key member of the Quality Control Strategies and Guidelines Group, you will play a vital role in driving a culture of safety, efficiency, and innovation by identifying statistical trends and performance metrics to improve the Quality Control division. About the Role The Quality Control Standards Data Analyst will be responsible for utilizing data to develop, present, and make recommendations for novel ideas and initiatives, as well as performing critical analysis to mitigate the risk of non-compliance through process enhancements. This role will support Company objectives, including maintaining low costs, modernizing the operation, and improving compliance, thereby providing a competitive advantage to Southwest Airlines. Key Responsibilities Perform and assist others in the Quality Control group in timely data collection, validation, and root cause analysis on data elements. Help develop and communicate results from complex data and analysis for both technical and non-technical Customers and Leaders. Assist with analyzing critical ad-hoc requests resulting from emerging support issues and provide insightful responses to enable Senior Leadership to make business decisions while balancing existing project commitments. Present insights, trends, and potential recommendations by utilizing data visualization tools supporting the applicable marks of the analysis to ease stakeholder understanding. Help develop and distribute specific queries to pull and organize data from various sources, establishing the cadence, and validating the need of the data requirements. Identify anomalies in processes through reviews/audits and communicate findings to the Team. Evaluate effectiveness of processes and procedures by monitoring for trends and errors. Ensure that a compliance mindset is at the center of every decision. May perform other work responsibilities as directed by Team Leader. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Proven ability to collect, organize, and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Capacity to effectively listen to, understand, and communicate ideas and present recorded in writing, verbally, or presentations delivered to groups of varying audiences. Ability to assess business issues, identify opportunities for data needs, and interpret resulting metrics. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Preferred Qualifications To stand out from the competition, you will ideally have: Knowledge of data visualization tools and capabilities, such as Tableau, Alteryx, and QuickBase. Ability to understand the issue, to summarize and perform root cause analysis on data, and provide recommendations using logic and reasoning. Proficiency in using PowerPoint to build presentations for verbal communications. Past internship, capstone projects, and research coursework. Previous internship experience in a related field. Ability to work effectively in a strong support/team-oriented environment. Ability to prioritize responsibilities effectively and be an independent organizer. Capacity to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately. Ability to plan and support large business initiatives.
