Why join us? $80K - $115K Base Salary Range M-F 8am - 5pm Oversee a team of 18 techs and 1 supervisor Job Details Quality Assurance Manager – Food Manufacturing Position Overview: Responsible for overseeing all quality operations within the facility to ensure products meet safety standards, customer requirements, and internal quality objectives. This role develops and executes short- and mid-term departmental plans and contributes to the plant’s overall strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Manage and supervise daily quality control activities within the department. Lead the Quality team in resolving nonconformance issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions. Oversee pest management programs and verify compliance quarterly. Coordinate monthly Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) audits with cross-functional teams and report findings with actionable plans. Collaborate with other departments to identify and track necessary improvements, including facility repairs. Serve as HACCP Coordinator, ensuring compliance with all food safety protocols, including plan reviews, reassessments, and team meetings. Address and resolve customer complaints promptly and effectively. Analyze trends in food safety and quality metrics, including KPIs, microbiological performance, and environmental monitoring. Recruit, train, and provide ongoing development for Quality Control Technicians, including annual food safety training. Represent the Quality department in internal meetings and cross-functional initiatives. Act as primary liaison with regulatory inspectors, ensuring compliance and addressing inquiries or concerns. Participate in product trials and commercialization projects as a Quality representative. Review and approve documentation related to product safety and quality; authorize product release. Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding material or product quality issues. Prepare and present monthly departmental reports, including performance metrics and improvement plans. Lead or support audits (customer, supplier, regulatory, and certification) with cross-functional teams. Drive continuous improvement projects focused on productivity, yield, and preventive food safety measures. Promote a strong food safety culture and customer-first mindset throughout the facility. Qualifications: 3–5 years of experience in USDA/FDA-regulated food manufacturing or related industries (pharmaceutical, nutraceutical). 2–3 years in a managerial role with compliance responsibilities. Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field. HACCP certification required; SQF experience preferred. Microbiology knowledge is a plus. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs occasionally. Ability to navigate all areas of the facility. On-site attendance required; remote work is not available. Interested in hearing more?
