Public Health Digital Communications Specialist
About the position We are seeking a highly motivated experienced Public Health Digital Communications Specialist with specialized expertise in suicide prevention, problem gaming, and gambling awareness to support a specific brand campaign. This role uniquely combines public health education credentials (MPH + CHES) with advanced content creation and social media management skills. Serve as both subject matter expert and creative communications professional creating evidence-based content for behavioral health initiatives. Responsibilities • Serve as subject matter expert on suicide prevention, problem gaming, and gambling awareness, ensuring all content is evidence-based and aligns with best practices • Create and publish minimum 3 social media posts per week across Facebook and Instagram platforms, along with a monthly newsletter distributed to stakeholders • Produce high-quality multimedia content including videos, PSAs, infographics, and print materials for digital and physical distribution • Develop and maintain an annual content calendar with monthly themed focus areas, submitting all content at least one month in advance for organizational review and approval • Build and maintain brand consistency through development of style guidelines and management of a comprehensive digital asset library • Plan, coordinate, and execute suicide prevention and mental health awareness campaigns using the Strategic Prevention Framework, including promotion of webinars, conferences, and community educational events • Manage day-to-day social media operations including content scheduling, community engagement, audience growth strategies, and collaboration with Regional Administrator and Media Consultants • Track, analyze, and optimize campaign performance using data analytics tools to monitor KPIs such as reach, engagement, conversions, and website analytics • Provide crisis communication and risk management guidance to organizational leadership and collaborate with community partners on joint awareness initiatives • Attend regular leadership check-ins and prepare comprehensive reports including monthly performance summaries (social metrics, newsletter engagement, analytics) and end-of-year report, plus DBHDS Office-Prevention reports as required Requirements • Minimum education: Master's in Public Health (MPH); Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) • Minimum experience: five (5) consecutive years creating digital/print content for public health, non-profit, or human services organizations • Must be able to demonstrate that content develop has large reach to desired audience Benefits • Medical, Vision, and Dental Plans • Paid Holiday and Personal Time Off • 401K plan • Short-term disability, Long-term, and Life Insurance • Education and Training Assistance Program • Incentive Plans and Referral Bonuses • Employee Assistance Programs Apply tot his job
