Project Engineer I - Special Projects Group (SPG)

The Project Engineer I will assist with the operational and administrative control of projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards while developing key relationships with subcontractors and customers. Responsibilities Assist with various aspects of a project including quantity takeoffs, proposal development, project setup, accounting, procurement, production tracking, budget forecasting, risk management, safety, and quality Read plans and specifications and understand the desired final construction outcome Develop key relationships with proven subcontractors and actively participate in customer engagement Mentor and train others in areas of proficiency Develop and maintain fundamental project schedules utilizing scheduling software Support change management on projects Demonstrate clear and effective written communication with internal and external partners Skills Bachelor's Degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field Equivalent technical experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record Prior internship experience during undergraduate coursework strongly preferred Knowledge of industrial construction terminology Critical thinking skills and ability to solve problems independently Proficient technical/computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite Experience utilizing systems such as estimating software, Viewpoint, and Procore Strong interpersonal communication skills, presentation skills, and professionalism Ability to work effectively with a diverse team to achieve results Strong organization and time management skills Knowledge of estimating production factors, such as MCAA or work activity methods Knowledge of labor rate development, cost types/phases, and T&M rate structures Benefits Discretionary merit bonus Medical/dental/vision insurance for employees + dependents Tiered paid time off (PTO) plan and paid holidays (including one floating holiday) 401(k) & Match Career Development Map/Growth Opportunities Employee Assistance Program Long Term Disability Coverage Company Overview We’re not your typical contractor.
